Com0Com is used to create virtual com ports (null modem cables) to allow CAT and keyer control to other programs from PowerSDR 1.x.

The Null-modem emulator (com0com) is a kernel-mode virtual serial port driver for Windows. You can create an unlimited number of virtual comport pairs and use any pair to connect one comport based application to another. It allows you to create the virtual serial port pairs to interconnect comport based applications. See the diagram below.

You can use it to have PowerSDR communicate with another application, like Ham Radio Deluxe, without adding physical hardware Com ports and making jumper cables to go between the Com ports.

You will see two types of platform specific files listed. Download the one that is correct for the operating system running on your PC to a folder on your PC:
  • 32-bit Windows operating systems are denoted by the “i386” designation in the file name, example: com0com-2.1.0.0-i386-chk.zip
  • 64-bit Windows operating systems are denoted by the “x64” designation in the file name, example: com0com-2.1.0.0-x64-chk.zip
NOTE: Although the "x64" version indicates the architecture is AMD64, it can be used with Intel processors that has 64-bit capability

You can download the Com0Com installation programs from the SourceForge project downloads page for the absolute latest version.  See below.
